About us
Breaking into advertising is hard.
Unfortunately, due to the enormous number of applicants, a University degree isn’t always enough to cut it. That’s where we come in. AdSoc will prepare you for the fierce competition that lies ahead, by making sure you not only know the ins and outs of the industry, but have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to stand out and hit the ground running. We’ll be welcoming industry titans and experts on various topics to host talks and Q&A sessions, as well as running skills workshops and employability seminars to make sure you have what it takes to succeed. We’ll also be exploring the fascinating world of ads and creativity, so whether you’re interested in a career in advertising or not, this society will help you make friends, learn about the world around you and leave ready to face the world!
Planned Events/Activities
Throughout the year, we'll focus on two things, Fun and Professional Achievements.
For fun, we aim to create a welcoming environment for like-minded people to connect. We will be hosting termly socials, industry event visits, and other themed social events, such as award submission celebrations. We hope to form a supportive community for advertisers alike.
For achievements, we will facilitate our members with gaining the necessary skills and confidence to compete in student adverting awards, build experience, and a career beyond. This will be done through support workshops for student awards such as D&AD New Blood and talks with some amazing guest speakers from the world of advertising, who will be talking about their experiences and sharing invaluable insight about the industry.
