Sports clubs offer opportunities to get involved in competitive and non-competitive sports. Whether it’s competing against other universities in BUCS, or just turning up to have fun, our clubs are a great way to participate in sports and meet new friends.

Yoga

Yoga Society is newly established with a whole new vision. We will learn yoga as a base to unlock new horizons with special sessions for mindfulness, yoga adjacent skills, park retreats and more!

About Yoga

Yoga is a mind and body centering practice that the students can reap benefits from across their school year in the form of increased focus, improved mental health and better physical health.

Due to the slow practice, it is a great way to meet like-minded people in a calmer setting away from the hustle bustle of the school life.

Proposed Plan for the Society

  1. Classes lead by trained professional – Once a week (Could increase frequency based on interest) – To learn and improve the practice of yoga

  2. Yoga Retreat Social – A nature, mindfulness, health or creative play oriented activity. Eg. 108 Sun Salutations in the park on Saturday Mornings, Nature walks, health food cafe´, Therapy Crafts – Once every 2 weeks (Could increase frequency based on interest) – To allow for alternate social ways for people to connect

  3. Special Sessions – Passes for Yoga Adjacent activities like Acro Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Barre. – Twice a month - To see application of yoga in different formats of excercises.

  4. Experimental Sessions – Hold 10-minute intentional guided breathing sessions  – To promote calm breaks between hectic days and raise yoga club awareness through small engagement
