Vote Luca #1 for more Community & Transparency

My name is Luca Upper and I am standing to become the next LCF Officer.

During my time as Course Rep and School Representative of the Fashion Business School I have worked tirelessly towards improving our student experience.

As LCF Officer I will work towards:

  • Building a strong LCF community at Stratford
    • Moving 6,000 students to a single building will be a huge change in the LCF culture. The SU and the university need to work together to create a strong LCF community at the new campus.
    • Information on the upcoming move to Stratford has been very limited. With the current bad communication, the start of the new academic year promises to be very chaotic. The college needs to be held accountable for any issues that may arise during the move and onwards.
  • More Transparency
    • Students should know what happens with their feedback. We deserve to know where our feedback ends up and what actions are taken from it.
    • Students should be consulted by the university for all major decisions, including unit/course design, new staff hires etc.
  • More Industry engagement
    • The university needs to host more industry events where we students can network with current industry professionals.
    • LCF should create more student-industry collaborations.
  • Better career support for students
    • LCF needs to organise more job fairs with opportunities that are tailored to the different courses.
    • The college needs to improve their support for alumni and should grant them access to university resources.

I have multiple years of experience in representing students and their needs. During this time, I have worked to create a better course community during times of covid-19 and have actively contributed to initiatives like the FBS Social Committee. As School Representative, I am working with the university to introduce easier Moodle layouts and improve the way how they feedback on summative assessments.

Vote me #1 LCF Officer so I can continue to create better education for all of us!
