I’m Yan from BA1 Textile Design at Chelsea. I have been impressed by the incredible talent and passion of my fellow classmates. That's why I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the Arts Student Union Election. Standing for the CCW Design rep, I am eager to take on a leadership role in our school community and make a positive impact on our campus.

I believe that my experience as a student rep and course committee member has prepared me to take on the responsibilities of a leadership position in the Arts SU. During my time in these roles, I have learned the importance of advocating for student needs and concerns, collecting student feedback by creating questionnaires. I have worked with faculty and staff to address issues and implement solutions that benefit our student body.

I believe that efficiency and communication are the greatest reflections of why the Student Union exists. If elected, I will work tirelessly to ensure that our voices are heard and that our needs are met. I will prioritize transparency to ensure that all students are informed and engaged with the activities and initiatives in UAL.

I also want to take this opportunity to express my commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in our school community. As a student of colour, I understand the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students, regardless of their background.

I am excited about the opportunity to represent our student body and to work towards a more equitable and inclusive art school community.
