Candidate for the position of London College of Communication (LCC) Officer

Harry Johnson

Committed from the start, with equality at heart.

I’m 19 years old, currently studying BA Media Communications at LCC. During my college years, I spent one year prior to A levels studying Production Arts. At sixth form, I studied English Language, Media Studies and Politics. For over three years, I have worked part time with John Lewis & Partners, an employer I am currently with to date. At work, I really enjoy meeting individuals with a range of backgrounds and values. This is a role that I would withdraw from should I be elected to the full-time position of College Officer.

My fundamental belief: We are all of equal value to each other, from cradle to grave - meaning that our individual opinions, rights and values should always be considered and protected.

I’d like to be LCC’s College Officer as I enjoy the act of engaging with a range of individuals, while carrying their concerns and ideas with a true integrity to act on these for the better good. Personally, I would like to see more support for LCC students, including but not limited to the following.

  •  I would like all LCC students to be automatically eligible for UAL’s bursary. This would encourage independence and provide financial support to all students without directing those currently ineligible to the hardship fund which students may feel uncomfortable applying for.
  • I would like to establish a monthly group creative project within LCC, with a prize incentive for the best rated group(s). This would both enable and encourage networking among students from a range of courses and years through creating projects with an aim to inviting established creatives to each month’s showcase..

Thank you for taking the time to explore my manifesto! If its aims and beliefs resonate with you then remember to vote me as #1.
