Arts Students' Union can provide funding for sports and society events, exhibitions, equipment, and activities.


Sports clubs

All sports clubs receive an annual basic grant of £500.

At the beginning of each academic year, additional grants are allocated to sports clubs by the Sports Development Coordinator, the Activities Officer, and the Creative Activities Manager. These grants are allocated using the following criteria:

  • Whether or not the sports club is competitive or non-competitive. Competitive clubs (those entered in BUCS or LUSL) receive a higher grant due to greater costs incurred for referees, pitch hire, and travel.
  • The number of weekly sessions held - the more sessions held the higher the grant.
  • The number of student members from the previous academic year.



If you would like to request funding for a society event then please read through the following funding criteria to ensure that you are aware of what Arts SU will and will not fund.

Once you are satisfied that your event or activity falls within our remit, please complete the following funding form and notify Eleanor (Activities Officer) when you have done so.
