Collaborative Residency

Last term, 10 students from across UAL colleges, courses and year groups were selected for a Collaborative Residency at our High Holborn space. The residency was aimed at students interested in collaboration and interdisciplinary research.

Opportunity Overview

For the first time, Arts SU invited 10 students to take part in a Collaborative Residency at our studio space in High Holborn.

The Residency was open to UAL students from all colleges, courses and year groups. It focused on interdisciplinary practice, paving new ways for student collaboration across UAL.

Between October and January 2023/24, the cohort benefitted from a shared studio space, professional development opportunities, mentoring and exhibition support.

Student Arts Programmer, Evie, has been following the students throughout the programme - you can read their blog posts here...

Body of Earth Exhibition

To celebrate the end of the residency period, the students were invited to take part in an exhibition at the SU Gallery Space in Camberwell.

BODY OF EARTH brings together students from various stages in their academic careers, from Foundation to Masters Degree, as well as from a range of courses across UAL.

The students' mutual manifesto pays homage to the natural world and explores their relationship with it. Their concepts draw upon issues and ideas, from the aesthetics of the botanical and biological, to interactions between the human and non-human. The exhibition includes photography, installation, sculpture and a variety of two-dimensional mediums.

Private View: Thursday 25th January, 5pm - 7pm

Exhibition Open: Friday 26th Jan - Thursday 15th February 2024
