Black History Month 2022 at Arts SU

As we gather together to celebrate Black History, we reflect on the ways in which we define what Joy means to us. Throughout the years, it is the moments of joy that have carried us through the ebbs and flows of life. It is in the search of joy that the fire for great change is fuelled. Through our desire to find and hold onto joy in its absence, we have birthed the art forms, genres and cuisines that we celebrate today. Despite the challenging past, and present, we would like to take a moment to pause and celebrate the small moments of joy leading us towards the future. By curating spaces that champion this notion, we can showcase the abundance of talent within UAL. Join us as we celebrate the past, present and future this Black History Month and beyond.

Thank you to the Dean of Students, Mark Crawley, for helping to fund Black History Month this year. Read our full statement about how we secured this funding.
