As a student at the University of Arts London, you are also able to get involved in a wide range of national student campaigns, initiatives and groups that advocate for student rights and representation across the UK. 

 

National Campaigns 

There are various national campaigns taking place that Arts SU is currently involved in or are accessible for UAL students to participate. We want to ensure that the unique experience of art students is being heard on the national level and taken seriously by decision making bodies and the government. 

Self-employment under the International Student Visa

National campaign led by Arts SU, seeking to lobby nationally for International Students on a Tier 4 Visa to have the right to Freelance. Proposed by MA Applied Imagination CSM student Brenda Hernandez and supported by Campaigns Officer Syahadah Shahril. 

NUS National Student Strike - Walk Out / Teach In

We co-badged NUS’ National Student Walkout, which was a full day of events, campaigning and workshops, attended by Students Unions & Students from Nationwide.? Syahadah Shahril (Campaigns Officer) ran a session on fostering supportive communities in HE, which over 60 students attended.?

Divest to Decolonise

National Union of Students (NUS)

Arts SU is a member of the National Union of Students (NUS), each year sending UAL student delegates to the annual conferences where national student policy and campaigns are decided. There is also a wide range of campaigns, groups and committees NUS leads which students can participate and get involved in - all accessible at NUS
