We are a membership organisation and registered charity that delivers high-quality services, representation and support for 18,000 students across London at the University of the Arts London (UAL). We exist to allow our organisation to make the greatest possible impact on student's lives and to maximise our resources in enabling them to create positive change at their university, in the community and in the wider world. Every year, our elected Student Officers, together with the Trustee Boards at the Union provides leadership and strategic direction for the work of over 30 permanent staff, 50 student staff and thousands of volunteers, delivering across 6 UAL Colleges across London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented students in the world, in the heart of the capital, amongst a motivated and energetic staff. 


Our membership is wonderfully varied in its range of study from artists, designers and performers as well as being hugely diverse with students from all over the world coming to study at UAL’s prestigious colleges. Students engage with us through our student clubs and societies, volunteering opportunities, exhibitions and artist workshops, academic representation, campaigning activity, and our advice and support services.

The past 18 months have been an exciting time of progress and renewal for Arts SU. We have redeveloped both our democratic processes and our staffing structure to ensure that we are an organisation that is fit for purpose and ready to deliver for our members in a post-pandemic era and beyond. We believe passionately that our recruitment process should be fair, giving everyone the opportunity to present their best selves. To accomplish this, we make sure that our recruitment process includes blind shortlisting to ensure that we are recruiting on the basis of an individual's application rather than other personal factors.

We recognise that interviews can be daunting at the best of times. However, as our interview process are online, we know that this can be even more challenging.
