Student & Dean Forums

What are Student Dean Forums?

These meetings take place twice a year, usually once in both terms one and two.

Student and Dean Forums are an opportunity to bring Course Reps and their Dean of School together to discuss issues affecting their course and academic experience at school level. Both Course Reps and School Reps are expected to attend their relevant Student and Dean Forums.

The structure of Student and Dean Forums is designed around reps and how they wish to use the time. We work collaboratively with Reps and School Deans to determine the topics for each forum to help start discussion. However, students are always welcome to bring their own topics to be discussed.

As these meetings are organised by Arts SU, information about these meetings, the topics due to be discussed and what you need to attend will be circulated by us in the weeks before. The current schedule* for forums by college can be found below:

Term 1 Student and Dean Forums:

Central Saint Martins – 9th November 2022
London College of Communication – 9th November 2022
Chelsea, Camberwell and Wimbledon – 16th November 2022
London College of Fashion – 23rd November 2022

Term 2 Student and Dean Forums:

Central Saint Martins – 15th February 2023
London College of Communication – 15th February 2023
Chelsea, Camberwell and Wimbledon – 22nd February 2023

2022 - 2023 Academic Year: Minutes and Actions

Minutes are taken during each Forum by Arts SU, including a list of actions to be taken from Student feedback. We circulate these to Deans and generally allow three weeks for them to amend the minutes with updates on how they have proceeded with any actions following the forum. We will then upload these amended minutes to this section of the website for any UAL student to view the progress of their Dean Forum feedback. You will be able to view them below:
