I will say your past and fight for your future!
Dear Students,
I hope you are all well, I am Dalma Wang a 2nd year Fashion Management BSc student at the London Collage of Fashion.
I am half Hungarian and half Chinese, therefore, I have been raised in an multinational environment. I have had the opportunity to go to an international school and was submerged with cultures all over the world. However, I noticed just because it was an ‘international’ school, it did not eliminate social issues, racial, and cultural inequalities within the school’s society. I have started to volunteer for several charities since the age of 14, and have raised money for terminally ill children, the homeless community and offered mental health services online. I passionately believe that fighting for a change is necessary.
Growing up, I quickly noticed there is a significant inequality between white and minority ethnicities, racial groups. Coming from an Asian and European background has triggered my sensitivity, confusion, and anger to the existence of social hierarchies within our culture, between ethnicities and different skin colours. I always wanted the opportunity to speak up my concerns of injustice within society and express my passion for the necessity of change. Therefore, I ask you to help me help you tackle inequality, violence, and social injustices regarding minority groups and societies. Let me be the unifying voice for those who feel they cannot be heard. I want to empower and fight for equal chances and raise concern for any issues involved with social and racial injustices.
Let me be there to say your past and fight for your future.
Thank you,
Dalma Wang
