Elections Hub

The election hub contains all the detailed information about the elections for students and staff such as training resources and sessions

Accessible and transparent

We want to ensure that the elections are as accessible and transparent as possible so that all students, whether it’s through standing for a position or voting, can participate. The Elections Hub contains all the information for UAL Students, Staff, and election candidates.

What roles are available?

School Rep positions

School Representatives exist to voice the views and interests of students from all courses that sit within their school/department on everything that affects the students’ academic experience. Working with fellow School and Course reps, University staff, and their College Sabbatical Officer to make positive change for students.

The following School Rep roles are available:

  • 1 x CSM C-School Rep
  • 1 x CSM S-School Rep
  • 1 x CSM M-School Rep
  • 1 x LCC Screen School Rep
  • 1 x LCF Media & Communication School Rep
  • 1 x CCW Art School Rep
  • 1 x CCW Design School Rep
  • 1 x CCW Performance & Foundation
  • 1 x Creative Computing Institute School Rep
  • 1 x Pre-degree and foundation School Rep

You can ONLY stand for a school rep if you study within that school/department!

UAL Postgraduate Students' Governor

The Student Governor exists to strengthen the voice of students on the University’s Court of Governors which is the governing body of UAL.

You will have a key role along with other governors (External, Staff and Student) to oversee the University’s new strategy and in monitoring the implementation of related programmes. This is a great opportunity to be exposed to the most senior decision making at UAL. The post is a volunteer role and will be unremunerated but should provide valuable work experience, as well as enabling you to shape the future of UAL

Recommend a Student

If you know someone who might be great at a role, you can give them a bit of encouragement to put themself forward by completing our Recommend a Student form

After you suggest them, we will send them an email letting them know that someone thinks they should stand (don't worry, you do have the option to remain anonymous). This could give someone the encouragement they need!

Complaints

Arts Students’ Unions elections are governed by rules to ensure they are run free and fairly for all candidates and voters. If you believe someone has been breaking these rules, you can complete this form.

Candidate Expenses

You must declare any and all spending for your election. You must complete the expenses Excel document and upload this document, including all receipts to the expenses form. The deadline to submit your expenses is the close of voting.
