My name is Sanusha Nath. I am currently a BA2 Fashion textiles knitwear course representative at London College of Fashion. My agenda as being a campaigns officer for UAL would be to put forward the opinions and discomforts of the students in UAL. I want to get involved with more campaigns within the university and encourage more students to be involved in campaigns. Raising issues and maintaining this strong sense of self within the UAL community shouldn't have to be something we just expect to happen without any help or resources.
If I am elected, I will work to:
- Ensure that UAL’s SU campaigns effectively engage the student body on different levels, including creating accessible campaigns for everyone.
- Ensure that UAL reduces the fees of international students and make it at least equal to the current home students during the time of the pandemic, as it is unfair for them to pay such high fees without being able to use the resources.
- Ensure that equality is promoted within every group of individuals in a rightful manner, thus leaving behind the need to make groups and societies for empowering a certain section of the society.
- Ensure to reduce the cost of art supplies, as it is not right on the part of an Art college to charge high prices for supplies that are available on a cheaper rate locally.
- Ensure students suffering from mental health issues are provided with rightful resources as early as possible and there is no waiting for months.
- Bridge the gap between the home and the international students in every manner so that no one is different from eachother.
I hope you consider giving me your vote for the Campaigns Officer role. I would love to help create exciting changes at UAL and help to develop our strong political voice.
