I’m Prachee Mashru, you can call me Prach! (she/her)
Straight outta Mumbai, I’m a 3rd Year BA Media Communications student at London College of Communication.
In my time here I’ve taken up various roles around campus, I’m confident that as your Campaign Officer I can make real changes and hold UAL accountable.
Why choose me as your Campaign Officer?
-
I’m a Student Changemaker : worked on running Anti-Racism workshops with courses and to decolonise them from their very foundation.
-
Developed the Decolonising Wikipedia Network : which identifies and empowers underrepresented practitioners. Find out more here.
-
Recurring Course Rep since year 1, so am confident in my ability to know what students need and how to voice their concerns.
-
Currently a Peer Mentor and supporting fellow students in any way I can.
What should you expect from me?
-
Making sure UAL financially compensates all International and Home students for disruptions caused by strikes and Covid-19.
-
Making International Fees cheaper!!
-
Making sure UAL finds better ways to facilitate students in the future in Covid-19 like situations and communicates better!
-
Push for Grad Shows for previous and current students.
-
Making sure UAL is an ACCESSIBLE, INCLUSIVE and SAFE space for every community especially marginalised students.
-
Mandatory inclusivity training for all Staff.
-
Decolonising course structures.
I aim to continue to not only campaign for things I‘m passionate about - including - #PauseOrPay #UALSoWhite #DecoloniseTheArts #SUAgainstThese, but also to help students create movement in any other area that they need.
Beyond UAL, I plan on taking action by campaigning for and with students on national levels as well to ensure they get what they expect from their university experience...
...But why just read about it? When you can watch me.
Vote Prachee as your Campaign Officer.
