If you're fly, vote for Kai x

My name’s Kairo (they/he). Your fave non-binary, trans masculine, plant dad babe! I’m a 2nd year BA Photography student at London College of Communication.

I am also this year’s Course Rep and Trans Officer and I believe as your Campaigns Officer I will be able to make massive change and impact.

My aims:

  • Host events that centre Black, POC, trans and disabled artists because our voices need to be uplifted and heard. From self-defence classes, networking events, artists talks and inclusive spaces.
  • Mandatory training for all Staff covering accessibility, inclusivity, and gender/sexuality before the start of 2021/22 term.
  • Campaign to make UAL more accessible to trans and non-binary students - MORE gender-neutral toilets across ALL campuses!!

As your Campaigns Officer, I also would be thrilled to support students in developing and running their own campaigns so that your voices are heard.

Why you should choose me:

  • As current Trans part-time Students’ Officer, I have already hosted a make-up social event during LGBTQ+ History Month, helped Arts SU keep hate speech outside of our university and written an article for Trans Awareness Week on visibility and my own experience being trans.
  • Started pushing for more transparency in regard to UAL’s finances - currently waiting for the LCC senior level management to respond to my queries
  • Currently in conversations to encourage UAL to be involve students more in crucial decision making such as contingency plans and on higher senior levels.

In conclusion, over here we keep it real - I am committed to hearing from all students.

I want us to thrive and for our voices to be heard so that UAL can take responsibility for their actions and do better.

Vote for me and I’ll make it happen.

Love,

Kairo
