Hey, I'm Minna Ellis (she/her), a Londoner in my final year of BA Fine Art at CSM. I'm a current course rep and am running for CSM college officer where I'll work hard to make sure your student voices are heard!   

   
I believe UAL is only ever as good as the students who make it that good, and there is always room to improve students’ satisfaction. I want to increase the levels of existing support regarding finance, health and student opportunities, as well as improving accessibility to free UAL services.  I’m here to improve your experience as a student, by listening to your feedback, I will enact upon what you want to see the future of UAL look like! If elected as your CSM officer, my priorities are:    

Finance:    

• Lobbying to widen the hardship funding scheme that requires less means-testing, for home/EU but also international students. More funding for more students – grants not loans!   

• Expand art material giveaways and low-cost student-run shops and fairs, open to all students on all courses.    

Communication:   

• Building more positive and transparent communications between staff and students on course-related issues and graduate showcases.   

Enrichment:    

• Establishing more fun, extra-curricular events, led by students for students. This includes but isn’t limited to: film nights, continued safe-space crits, graduate showcase fundraiser events, and more dedicated spaces in CSM for exhibitions, shops, showcases and performances.    

• Pushing for continued study abroad schemes with clear financial and travel guidance.   

Accessibility:   

• We are returning to in-person tuition, but for vulnerable students and anyone who requires it, accessibility measures should remain in place in the future, where all lectures and seminars have an online option, recordings and transcriptions of lectures are continued.
