Hello, my name is Katwamba Mutale I’m a second-year fashion photography student at London College of Fashion.
I’m standing for school representative for London College of Fashion because I want to improve the diversity and inclusivity at the college particularly amongst BAME students at London College Fashion.
If elected I would aim to make BAME students feel that they belong and feel seen at college by
- Gaining feedback from students through surveys and on-site interviews about their time at the college.
- Work with the Dean from this feedback and look at what measures can be put in place.
I believe I am the right student for the role because I can bring a unique perspective being a black, neurodiverse queer student. To add to that, I have experience in leadership, communication, and working with people as I am currently Course Rep and NUS Conference Delegate. I also have developed skills in management, organisation, and teamwork as I was leader of my Accommodation Rent Strike last year.
Thank you for taking the time read my manifesto.
