Overview

This event is now cancelled and will be rescheduled for a date in the new academic year.

Rakhi is a Body Acceptance and Embodiment facilitator, guiding women to experience acceptance of their bodies and connect deeply to it using body-based practices.

In the workshop, Rakhi will guide you through a meditation practice, mirror work and intuitive dance. You will challenge societal messages that tell you your body isn't enough and that you need to be at war with it. You will learn how to connect to it, and how to respect it. You will feel empowered as you experience self- and body acceptance and tap into your body's power, pleasure and joy.

"My aim through these sessions is for you to go inward and reclaim your power, so that you can cultivate the confidence to voice your needs and desires and take up space."

In this workshop Rakhi will guide you through:

  • A meditation practice- to help release any tension from the day and sink into your body, into your relaxed state and presence
  • Journalling practice- We'll be reflecting on important questions- how would you feel about your body if other's opinions didn't matter? Where can you feel gratitude for your body? What would you like to say to your body?
  • Eye-gazing- You will be led through a practice where you will partner up and look into the eyes of a fellow woman in the room. What you see is a deep reflection of you. The message you wish to convey to your fellow woman are words you've been yearning to hear yourself.
  • Intuitive dance- Our final practice - we dance, we move, we sink into our joy and pleasure and just ALIVE we are in our bodies. We experience what it's like to be inside our bodies. This isn't choreography, this is free movement to music. It's practicing and exploring body trust, self - expression and acceptance through dance.
