Full of practical insights, advice, and space for discussion with participants, in the first half of this course Louise O’Kelly, Founding Director & Curator of Block Universe will speak about performance art and the transition from a physical to digital festival, as well as highlighting concerns of producing and supporting artists when working in this realm. Artists Ekin Bernay & Rowdy SS will share their personal practice and the experience of working together on Homework for Block Universe’s virtual festival Sessions last year.
Part 2: Thursday 13 May - 5:30pm - 7:30pm
The second half of the course will offer the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills of performance work, taking case studies from Ekin & Rowdy’s recent online presentations. Offering the floor out to students to share their concerns in presenting or adapting their work, this course will provide a unique opportunity to gain insight and feedback from practising artists in an intimate setting.
