By Bittikake + Tittra
Bittikake + Tittra is a collaborative duo, our work explores care and an intermingling of cultural narratives. For this project we draw on automotive associations from our individual backgrounds Cornwall and Mumbai respectively.
We use a textual and visual vehicular lexicon to explore the tension between private and public space. An automobile is an intimate environment we often yearn to individualise, yet one that remains visible with every glass and mirror for any keen stranger. This project, ‘Bogeys on the Dashboard’ takes its title from a slightly vulgar private joke between us, reflecting the humour and personal conversations that anchor our collaboration. We bring these private exchanges into a public exhibition, exploring how one's vehicle, although sacred, remains a shared point of reference.
Bittikake + Tittra are currently studying BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art.
