It's your time to set the agenda for the support you need, right now, with the Arts SU Basic Needs survey.
Arts Students’ Union officially launches the Arts SU Student Basic Needs Project Survey on Monday 9th June, and we want to hear from you!
The survey is part of a two-year project, launching in September 2025, developed in response to the ongoing cost of living crisis and aimed at supporting students experiencing basic needs insecurity. The term “basic needs” reflects a growing recognition in the UK that students need secure access to essentials such as food, accommodation, and various other types of support in order to succeed inside and outside of the classroom. You've already identified the need for more support at UAL, and we're unifying this work into one rallying cry: your basic needs deserve better.
At the heart of this project is you. Your voice will help shape Arts SU’s Student Basic Needs Project and advocate for meaningful, student-centred support across UAL. We want to understand your experiences, your challenges, and your ideas for how we can better support the basic needs of UAL students. We're putting your needs and your priorities front and centre: we are one of the first SUs across the UK to challenge the status quo.
Students who participate in the survey will have the option to enter for a chance to win one of three £20 Love2Shop vouchers.
The survey opens on Monday 9th June, and you've got until 20 June to set the agenda.
