Hello. Hey, I’m Anita, your Education Officer.
Tell us about your student experience.
While studying at UAL I was a course rep, a peer mentor and a student ambassador. I campaigned against the redevelopment of Elephant and Castle and to tackle issues such as lack of diversity.
What are your priorities for the next year?
I want to make the student experience as positive and stress-free as possible! That means more funding for degree shows, making better use of UAL’s facilities, and increasing the expenses and materials provided for students across all courses. I’ll be campaigning for free education nationally and for fixed fees for international students. Also, it’s about time we diversified the curriculum: we need more representation of BME students, a wider range of contemporary guest speakers, and a broader reading list.
What’s your message for new students?
University shouldn’t be an intimidating place. I know that being a student can be hard work and living in London can be expensive, but I’m here to help and support you – as is the whole of Arts SU.
