Move Beyond ChatGPT
AI for Creatives: From Prompt to Process
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming part of the creative landscape, yet many students still use it only for basic text generation. This workshop invites UAL students to rethink how AI can support their creative process rather than just produce final outputs.
“Move Beyond ChatGPT – AI-Assisted Creative Studio” introduces AI as a creative thinking partner. Instead of using AI as a shortcut, the session will show how it can help with idea generation, research, concept development, prompting techniques, experimentation, and creative workflows.
Through live demonstrations and interactive activities, students will learn how to use AI to expand ideas, explore different creative directions, and refine concepts, while still keeping full creative control and authorship.
As AI becomes increasingly present in the creative industries, understanding how to work with it responsibly and effectively is becoming an important skill for future careers in fashion, design, and other creative fields. The workshop will also discuss originality, ethics, and academic integrity, helping students feel more confident using AI in the right way.
By the end of the session, students will leave with practical skills and strategies for using AI to support their creative thinking, research, and design process.
