Overview

Join the UAL Culinary Creators at our very first in-person cooking workshop! Aimed at teaching new Uni students how to cook basic dishes for themselves as they embark on their Uni journey, this class will teach you basic knife skills, cooking skills, seasoning skills and organisational skills that'll take you a long way in the kitchen!

Event Itinerary

1600-1615: Arrive at The Bridge and settle down with our handmade snacks + pastries, drinks bar and ice breaker activities!

1615-1645: Introductory presentation about UALCC, The Bridge Social, followed by a cooking crash course + useful resources. Attendees will be divided into 3 groups.

1645-1730: Group 1 cooking tutorial, Groups 2 and 3 mix and mingle

1730-1815: Group 2 cooking tutorial, Groups 1 and 3 mix and mingle

1815-1900: Group 3 cooking tutorial, Groups 1 and 2 mix and mingle

1900-1915: Debrief, Q&A, goodie bag presentation and goodbye

Every attendee MUST fill up an additional dietary requirement to reduce the risk of allergic reactions. This is to keep you and others safe. Please bring your epipens or prescribed medications in the rare event of an emergency, and ensure that you keep us informed of any access requirements you may need!

As The Bridge Social is a vegetarian kitchen and cafe, we have been asked to use our own equipment for cooking. While we have some on hand, it would be greatly appreciated if you could bring a small chopping board, a pot and a small baking tray, but only if you already have these and are willing to share!

*This cooking session uses meat. We have opted for Halal ingredients to accommodate for some attendees. If you are vegan or vegetarian, keep a lookout for future events and suggest ideas in our Whatsapp community chat!
