Overview

Join us for a night of delicious handmade dishes, snacks, drinks and gifts at Hatcham House, New Cross! A lovely space fitted with beautiful lights, a stage, sound system and small bar fitted with heating appliances, this event will be perfect for you to show off your traditional dishes at our Potluck Table!

Why come? We've got free goodie bags for all participants, and you'll get free food too, as long as you bring a dish, snack, sweets, a drink, ingredients to make a drink, or a souvenir/keepsake for everyone. Deepavali is meant to be a night of community and enjoying food together, so don't come empty handed!

If you celebrate but are missing the festivities, friends and family back home, this'll be a perfect opportunity for you to find your community and still enjoy the celebrations. An intimate and cozy space meant for foodies, chefs and bakers, this potluck night will be perfect for you if you'd rather not spend money on tickets to crowded parties, clubs or events elsewhere - yes, this event is completely free!

Even if you don't celebrate, you're more than welcome to join us; bonus if you try your hand at making a traditional Indian dish! Just come with something to share with everyone, and take this opportunity to learn about the traditions, dishes and culture typically celebrated at Deepavali.

You MUST fill up a dietary restriction form if you're coming, so that we can reduce the risk of allergic reactions. Consume any of the foods at your own risk - Arts SU, UAL and UAL Culinary Creators will not be liable! Anyone bringing food has to label their dishes with all the ingredients used, including trace allergens listed on any packaging.

Where: Hatcham House, New Cross (367 Queen's Rd, London SE14 5HD)

When: 20th October, Monday, 6-9pm

Attire: Traditional garments (saree, kurta etc) OR appropriate pink/purple/orange/yellow/gold attire

Bring: A dish, snack, sweets, drinks, ingredients to make a drink, souvenirs or keepsakes for at least 10 people, a container to take extra food home
