Intersecting Lines is an exhibition celebrating the convergence of artistic expression, human connection, and the exploration of various mediums through the lens of drawing. By expanding the notion of drawing to other possibilities, both material and conceptual, it is possible to understand the importance and diversity that it can represent in the contemporary context.

The exhibition is a culmination of the creative endeavors of Emma Jordan, Hyeyeon Chung, Jingyun Guan, Júlia Mazzoni, Muchen Huang (Meloche), Mriganka Singh, Vár Samuelsen and Zhengwen Chen, MA Fine Art: Drawing students whose works come together in a celebration of diverse perspectives and media. From figurative sketches to abstract representations, the artists capture the essence of human emotions, connections, and interactions, offering glimpses into the intricate tapestry of human experiences.

The works are varied in processes, ideas and techniques, yet showcase their own personal and collective dialogues through the fundamental essence of drawing as an art form. Each piece explores the dynamics of encounters, dialogues, and the shared moments that shape our lives. Whether through installations, sculptures, textiles or traditional drawing, the artists evoke a sense of connection and unity amid diversity.

Intersecting Lines is a testament to the multifaceted nature of drawing, showcasing the richness of expression that emerges when lines intersect—where people meet, ideas collide, and perspectives converge. As these postgraduate students pave their artistic paths, the exhibition asks the public to explore the boundless realms of drawing and the beauty found within the connections we make.
