The Communities Team are delighted to announce the creation of 15 new student groups! Find out more about each group below.
Chinese Culture, Digital Arts and Technology (CCDATS):
This society aims to create a creative platform that explores Chinese traditional arts and culture through combining tradition with modern creative practices and emerging technologies. Events include AI and digital exhibitions, workshops and celebrating cultural events.
Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA):
The Chinese Students and Scholars Association aims to brings the Chinese student community at UAL together, to promote artistic and cultural exchange, and enrich student life through celebrating cultural events, creating exhibitions and job fair.
Deshi Soc:
Deshi Soc provides a safe space for Bangladeshi students, and also hopes to extend Bangladeshi culture and traditions to other students. Events include games nights, applying henna, cultural events and more.
Disability and Neurodiversity Society:
The Disability and Neurodiversity Society brings together neurodivergent and disabled students at UAL to create a supportive, understanding, and inclusive community and for students to be able to review current processes or events, find potential barriers and suggest adjustments for improved accessibility and inclusion.
Illustration Society:
The Illustration Society provides a supportive and inspiring space where students across all disciplines can come together through drawing and illustration. Events will include illustration challenges, weekly "draw and chill" sessions, field trips, sketch walks, exhibitions and art swaps.
K-Drama Society:
The K-Drama Society brings together UAL students who share an interest in Korean dramas and East Asian media through watch parties, discussions and team events.
K-Pop Society:
The K-Pop society provides a space for students to share their love for and interest in K-pop through music discussions, listening to the new albums as well as watching recent music videos, learning choreography and lyrics and more.
Middle-Eastern and North African Society (MENA):
The Middle-Eastern and North African Society brings together students who share an interest in the cultures, creativity and social life connected to the MENA region.
Motorsports Society:
The Motorsports Society creates a welcoming environment for all lovers of motorsports through activities such as race watch parties, discussions and interactive game events.
Potters Society:
The Potters Society brings together students who enjoy ceramics and working with clay. Activities include bi-weekly ceramics and air dry clay building sessions and pottery courses.
Socialist Society:
The Socialist Society platforms students fighting for a socialist transformation of society and for socialist ideas through weekly discussions, campaigns and soft-skill development.
SWANA Society:
The SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Asia) aims to build a supportive, empowering community for SWANA students at UAL to meet, collaborate, exchange ideas and support one another in spotlighting SWANA art, culture and student artists.
South Asian Students' Association (SASA):
The South Asian Students' Association aims to build a strong and inclusive community for South Asian students across all UAL colleges through focussing on cultural celebration, community building, and student opportunities.
Ultimate Frisbee Club:
The Ultimate Frisbee Club hopes to unite ultimate frisbee enthusiasts at UAL, whether that's learning the basic skills to participating in competitions.
Women Leading Fashion and Artistic Industries (WLFI):
WLFI aims to create a space for all women across UAL interested in the fashion and artistic industries to meet, collaborate, and empower one another.
