Hi everyone, I’m Summer! Your Union Affairs Officer at Arts SU.

Communication & Transparency

My work focused on making Arts SU more visible and accessible for all students. I aimed to strengthen trust and awareness by improving how we communicate who we are, where we are and how we can support you throughout your time at UAL.

Improving Representation & Creating an Inclusive Campus Environment

I worked to create spaces where students from all backgrounds feel represented, belonged and connected. Through a range of creative activities I aimed to celebrate identity, encourage belonging and ensure that student voices are valued across our campuses.

Cost of Living

I supported initiatives designed to provide practical, immediate help for students facing financial pressures. My focus was on increasing access to free and affordable food as well as essentials, so students can feel more secure and able to fully engage in university life.

Overall Term 1 Summary

This term was all about making Arts SU more accessible, strengthening student connection and expanding meaningful support across our campuses. From improving communication and visibility of SU services, to building inclusive community spaces and offering cost of living support. My goal was to ensure every student feels informed, represented and supported.

I’m excited to continue developing these work as we move into Term 2!
