On the occasion of International Women’s Day, She Does Magazine launches as both a celebration and a statement of intent. Created by current students and alumnae of the University of the Arts London, the project brings together women determined to carve out space for themselves in creative and sporting industries that often feel uncertain, competitive, and unequal. In a time, shaped by the rapid rise of AI, economic instability, and increasingly precarious working conditions, She Does was built from a shared desire not to wait for opportunities, but to create them.

Rather than allowing these challenges to silence them, the team chose to respond by building an editorial platform of their own: one rooted in collaboration, visibility, and shared belief. To be seen, heard, and recognised on our own terms. The perspectives featured are shaped by different cultures, backgrounds, and life stages, offering an honest and varied portrayal of what it means to build, compete, and create as women today.

Being part of the project meant contributing to something collaborative and purposeful. Every page reflects the skills, resilience, and ambition of women supporting one another, whether through stories from UAL societies, financial advice for young women navigating independence, or honest reflections from female athletes about their journeys and challenges. The magazine doesn’t just aim for visibility; it stands for agency. It is about taking up space, valuing women’s work, and recognising that creativity and athleticism carry weight and deserve long-term support, not just momentary attention.

This issue serves as both a celebration of women redefining strength and success, and a promise to continue building platforms where women can grow and thrive. She Does Magazine is available to purchase now throughout all campuses on UAL via stands starting 2nd of March, and supporting the project means directly investing in a community of emerging female creatives and athletes who chose to build something powerful together rather than wait for permission. Magazines will be available to purchase in the following areas and dates:
