The SU Advice Team launched the Companion Scheme at the start of lockdown as an initiative to keep UAL students connected, creative and collaborative throughout this difficult time.
There are now over 850+ students involved in the scheme. Alongside chatting to your partner individually as a member of the companion scheme you receive fortnightly newsletters containing fun things to do such as; online exhibitions and inspiring videos. We will also be hosting some competitions with fab prizes up for grabs.
To sign up for the scheme fill out this simple form which gives us an idea of your preferences and then we try our best to pair you up with someone who matches these.
"I joined as I wanted to get to know other students who shared similar interests or were on similar courses. I got paired up with someone and we get on really well which is great! We even formed a bubble as we both live alone which was helpful in these strange times. It’s also been good to take part in the socials that happened before Christmas which was a great way to meet more people. I would definitely recommend the companion scheme to others."

“I joined because I thought it might be a fun way to get to know someone from another course. What I liked the most about it was seeing who I would get matched with and if we would get along. In the end I got to know a really nice girl and the experience was fun."
Kinga - UAL Student
We have set up a number of companion groups during the term, you can select one or more on the form to let us know your interest in joining. Details on how to join the groups will be sent out to all companions in the newsletters.
