Manifesto

Candidate for the position of Chelsea, Camberwell & Wimbledon (CCW) Officer

Rachel Kiki

More can be done. More will be done.

As a student rep I would aim to focus on bringing CCW together as three colleges, rather than the division I feel is in place now.

I'm Kiki. I'm a non-binary photographer, actor, producer, journalist and teacher studying Acting and Performance at Wimbledon. I spent three years working across state schools in London and have the best of both worlds; I have been both the student and the teacher. I worked in the outreach programme for a school in North London and from what I can compare, the organisation at UAL has been disastrous - I want to change that for students at CCW.

I have been working with Wimbledon and students across board to find out your issues and try help as best I can with things we all seem to struggle with; unexpected funding of necessary materials, lack of help and support from tutors or heads, impossible communications within our courses. It seems that the amount of money we are spending on each course is not reflected in the material nor tutorage we are being given. I want to do something about that. I want there to be easier accessiblity of support ad more education early on on who to speak to about concerns. As someone with ADHD too, I've found that there is a severe lack of help for disabled students, more so with how to even gain said help. We deserve better than this. We are paying for a service that I feel is often misrepresented; and I want to make sure we get our moneys worth whilst still prioritising our mental and physical healths, something I feel is severely lacking at CCW from what I've seen.
