There is still work to be done.

Throughout my educational career, I have always been a leading and active member in my community - having been a Student Support Leader for 3 years, as well as Course Ambassador for 2 years at my previous university, I am experienced in working alongside the university and student union closely in striving for a productive environment. Being a POC, I find it is vital to help organise a safe and inclusive space for all students. As your Student Officer, I believe it is paramount that there be no hesitation in tackling institutional discrimination on campus and within societies - particularly within our current socio-political climate, where we find that changes are being discussed but not made. Coming to Central Saint Martins, with my years of successfully working with students, I would be the best candidate for bringing in new perspectives.

My aims include:

  • More talks and forums regarding race issues within the arts industry, leading a discussion on how to ensure a fair working environment for Black, Asian, & underrepresented creatives.

  • Revision of Eurocentric and/or heteronormative curriculums across courses to ensure students are being provided with broader perspectives.

  • An update on if the 'Tell Someone' support system to report sexual misconduct/harassment has been working efficiently.

  • Direct support system for students who have faced forms of discrimination on campus in collaboration with the culture & liberation societies.

  • Furthering the education on the environmental crisis and promoting ways to combat it within our community.

  • Advocating to scrap printing fees.
