Congratulations to all who were nominated at this year's Society Awards, and well done to the winners:
Society of the Year
For providing consistently high quality sessions, hosting one-off performance events, catering for over 150 students, and providing a legitimate outlet for students that love to perform - Drama Society
Outstanding Individual Contribution to a Society
Nadia Moussaoui – Nadia has worked exceptionally hard all year to establish partnerships with charities such as the British Red Cross, Coram, The Children’s Society, and Young Roots to provide art workshops for young refugees. UAL for All was founded by Nadia to offer UAL students a chance to give something back to the local community.
Best New Society
For encouraging UAL students to celebrate, rather than fear, failure, and to tap into what it can bring to the creative process – Fail Better.
Event of the Year
The LGBTQ+ Society and ArtsFems – Human Manifesto was a fantastic collaborative exhibition exploring queer and female bodies featuring 24 student artists. The committee organised the call-out, created an effective promotional campaign, curated the exhibition, and held a successful private view.
Most Improved Society
For organising more socials, increasing social media presence, creating visually engaging graphics, and establishing a strong community for students to celebrate their faith – the Christian Union.
