Tell us a bit about how you first got involved in your sport?
I got first involved in Taekwon-Do at the age of 6 in order to defend myself from any dangerous situation. I got into it not just because the physical exercise was enjoyable, but also its tenets were fascinating. I was interested in Poomsae, although I eventually trained and focused on practical fighting.
What is a typical week for you?
I used to train 5 days a week for 2 hours, which included 30 minutes of independent practice after class and I tried to use Friday to practice for performance. It was a pattern of my training.
What are your greatest sporting achievements/what are you most proud of?
My greatest achievement was becoming a leader at my Taekwondo Academy. It was an honor to instruct and motivate my teammates. I was proud after years of training to be the highest-ranked student in the academy. I was always more proud of helping struggling students rather than performing well in competitions. I helped many of them with their promotion tests.
