Reward and Recognition

Rep Reward and Recognition System

This scheme recognises the time, care and effort you put into representing students, gathering feedback, contributing ideas, building community and helping improve academic life across UAL.

How it works Recognition levels

How it works

  1. Take part

Earn points through eligible activities such as training, committees, gathering student feedback and helping bring reps together.

  2. Record your contribution

Record every completed activity in the Reward & Recognition form, regardless of the type of activity. Include the date and a short description, and provide any supporting details requested in the form.

  3. Progress through the tiers

The Education Quality team reviews and tracks contributions during the academic year. Each tier is awarded when you first reach its points threshold.

Please note: points are reviewed by the Education Quality team. An activity should be eligible under the current scheme before you assume it will count. Keep a note of your contribution and any relevant evidence.

Rep of the Month

Rep of the Month recognises meaningful contributions, including impact, leadership, new ideas, supporting other students and consistent involvement. You do not need to have the highest number of points to be recognised.

Students, other reps, Course Leaders, Officers and the Education Quality team can nominate a rep. The decision considers verified activity and nominations, rather than points alone.

What does the selected rep receive?

  • A personal thank-you
  • A £15 One4all digital gift card
  • The option to be featured celebrating their contribution, with their consent

Rep of the Month is separate from the reward choices attached to the Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to reach all three levels at once?

No. Bronze, Silver and Gold are awarded when you first reach each threshold. You can progress through the levels during the academic year.

Do points alone decide Rep of the Month?

No. Rep of the Month considers verified activity and nominations, including the contribution's impact, initiative, leadership, support for other students and consistent involvement.

Will my name or contribution be published?

Any optional annual website listing or spotlight requires your consent.

What if an activity is missing from my points record?

Contact the Education Quality team with a brief description of the activity and any relevant evidence so they can review it.

I'm not a Course Rep. Does the scheme apply to me?

The scheme is intended to recognise contributions across the Arts SU rep community, not only Course Reps. If you are unsure whether your role or an activity is eligible, check with the Education Quality team before relying on it for points.
