Recognising and representing the diverse student community at UAL is a fundamental part of our work at Arts SU. Our mission is to understand the inequality and disparities that exist for our students in arts education and wider society so that we can respond. We want our work to provide a voice and platform to marginalised student communities, actively educating and addressing the barriers that exist.

When you are chronically ill or with ever declining physical disabilities there comes a point when you become a NHS reject. No treatment options left for you, no operating lists, just pain killers… if you don’t want to spend your life in a fog of opiates you have to deal with the pain. If you want financial help to keep your independence in work or education you’ll find that difficult as the government won’t support you until it’s too late. 54% of disabled people are pushed into debt many trying to remain independent. All we want is help to keep going and contribute to society for as long as we can.
