What are you looking for?

Staying safe while travelling around London is important, whether you’re cycling, walking, or using public transport.

Top Tips:

  • Plan your journey: Use TfL Journey Planner to avoid unexpected route changes.

  • Stay aware: Keep valuables out of sight and be mindful of your surroundings on busy routes.

  • Night travel: Use Night Bus services or the Night Tube where available; avoid walking alone in unlit areas. Let a trusted person know when you're heading home, and send a quick message once you've arrived safely.

  • Cycling safety: Always wear a helmet, use lights at night, and secure your bike with a strong D-lock, whenever possible.

Emergency contacts: In an emergency, dial 999. For non-emergency situations, call 101 or contact the British Transport Police on 61016 (text).
